- DME Dashes & Flags:
The DME displays can show one of the following indications:
1.DME distance.
2.Dashes indicating a NCD (non-comuputed data) condition.
3.Barber pole flag indicating failure.
DME Dashes (NCD-Condition): Notes:If the DME interogator has no information to process then the output to the indicator is NCD which will result in dashes being displayed. Lack of information to process can result from the DME ground station not replying to interogations or on the aircraft side, problems with the antenna or coax.
1.It is normal to display dashes if the DME interogator is being "Agility" tuned by the FMC. If this is the situation you will also see dashes in the "Auto Tune" window of the VHF Nav control head.
DME Flag In-View:1.First thing to do is check the DME indication on the opposite RDDMI:
2.If you have a flag on both indicators you have a source problem.
3.If you have a flag on only one, then the indicator with the flag is the most likely problem. If the indicator does not fix the problem check wiring between the indicator and the interogator.
