- EGPWS Terrain Fail (TERR FAIL) Message:
Notes:
- The amber TERR FAIL message indicates a failure of the enhanced portion of the Ground Proximity Warning Computer and display have failed.
- The TERR FAIL can temporarily occur in-flight if the aircraft flies into a GPS no-coverage area. (example: White Sands, New Mexico) Check with Dispatch for information concerning GPS nocoverage areas.
- TERR FAIL will show if both GPS antennas are not receiving a signal. (example: aircraft in hangar)
TERR FAIL Message Possible Causes:Before replacing any component perform BITE if available. (Push the test switch once for level 1 test, twice for current faults.)
