If two ACT(s) are installed, the fuel transfer starts with ACT#2 . When a low level is sensed in ACT#2, the fuel transfers from ACT#1 to the Center automatically.
Note #2Make sure there is sufficient space in center tank to contain the fuel in the ACT transfer.
Steps to XFR Fuel From ACT to Center:1.Run APU with APU bleed air "ON". (keeps head pressure in ACT tank).
2.Make sure the flaps/slats are retracted.
3.On the wing, power up the Defuel/Refuel panel (800VU) and perform a high level sensing test.
4.On the wing Defuel/Refuel panel (800VU) put the mode select switch in the "Defuel XFR" position.
5.In the cockpit, push in the XFEED P/BSW, "ON" and "OPEN" light illuminate.
6.In the cockpit, push in the ACT P/BSW, the FWD legend comes on. A full green triangle comes into view on the ECAM fuel page, fuel begins transferring to the center tank. (if ACT fails to transfer with in 2 minutes, you must prime the ACT pump). click here for procedure
7.When the fuel configuration is correct or when the ACT fuel quantity has been zero for 2 minutes, release (out) the ACT P/BSW. Push the XFEED P/BSW, "ON" & "OPEN" light extinguishes.
8.On the wing Defuel/Refuel panel (800VU) put the mode select switch in the "OFF" position.
